Lower Petrol Price of RM1.70 per litre by June vs current RM1.80?

Kuala Lumpur: The Government planned to set the value of RON95 petrol at RM1.70 when it is introduced in the middle of this year. “We want to give consumers good value for their money. Now you’re paying RM1.70 for RON92, we’re planning to give RM1.70 for RON 95 as well.
“So you get better quality petrol at the same price as RON 92. RON 97 will still be there too, but we haven’t decided on the pricing,” said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Samad

This is all a smokescreen making people think that they are giving better fuel at cheaper price but the fact that they are going to significantly increase the price of RON97 is not good news to anyone. You can't say that price of petrol will be RM1.70 vs RM1.80 now. RM1.80 is the price of RON97. It's comparing apples and pears.
They are planning to implement a tax on RON97 to pay for the subsidies on RON95. Well, we are already paying that for RON97. With crude oil staying below US$40/barrel, the government is lying when it says that the price will increase by 50 sen if it floated the price today. More smokescreen from a corrupt government trying fool the citizens into thinking that they are being taken care of. Wake up, people! You've got to know when you're getting screwed over.

Dacmo...totally agree with you bro. The same lies with the electricity tariffs. Increased 17% previously and now just gonna lower it by about 3% for household users

Then there's Proton cars......they are cheaper in international market than local market
